ISLAMABAD: The Private Educational Institutions Regulatory Authority (PEIRA) has allowed the operation of summer camps in Islamabad under prescribed standard operating procedures (SOPs), issuing a formal notification in this regard.

Education experts, private educational institutions and parents have welcomed the decision, describing it as a timely and positive step for students’ academic development.

According to education stakeholders, summer camps will help bring out-of-school children back into the education system while also addressing learning gaps, supporting timely completion of coursework and improving the overall learning process.

The development follows efforts by Federal Board Member Board of Governors and President of the Private Educational Society, Hafiz Muhammad Basharat, and his team, who remained engaged with relevant authorities and advocated for permission to hold summer camps. Representatives of various educational organizations also supported the initiative.

Hafiz Muhammad Basharat welcomed the decision and thanked PEIRA Chairman Dr. Ghulam Ali Mallah and PEIRA Secretary Muhammad Javed Iqbal for approving the move.

He said the decision would benefit students, parents and educational institutions alike, while helping strengthen academic activities during the summer break.

Basharat added that the initiative would particularly benefit children who have fallen behind in their studies or have remained out of the educational process for various reasons.

He reaffirmed the private education sector’s commitment to promoting quality education and supporting national educational objectives.

Education stakeholders expressed hope that the summer camps would provide students with improved learning opportunities and help them prepare more effectively for the upcoming academic year.
