Pakistan has announced 50,000 scholarship cards for young people seeking free training in digital and technical skills, with applications due by August 21, 2026. The programme is open to Pakistani citizens aged 15 to 50 who have at least a matriculation-level education.
The initiative, launched under the Hunarmand Punjab Advanced IT and Technical Training Programme, aims to equip participants with skills for employment, freelancing and opportunities in the digital economy.
50,000 scholarships allocated across regions
Of the 50,000 scholarship cards, 25,000 have been allocated to young people in Punjab, while the remaining 25,000 are reserved for applicants from Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Sindh and Balochistan.
The programme covers more than 30 areas of training, including artificial intelligence, digital marketing, web development, graphic design, e-commerce, cybersecurity, data science, freelancing, video editing, app development and YouTube monetisation.
Additional courses include Amazon virtual assistance, Shopify, Daraz business, WordPress, React, Node.js, MERN stack development, PHP Laravel, Python programming, machine learning, SEO, Google Ads and IELTS preparation.
Participants can also receive training in textile design, digital embroidery and penetration testing, expanding the programme beyond conventional IT courses.
Performance-based rewards for top candidates
The programme also includes rewards linked to candidates’ performance in the final evaluation test.
Candidates scoring 85% will be eligible for fee reimbursement. Those achieving between 86% and 88% will receive a solar panel, while scores of 89% to 91% qualify for a Chromebook.
Candidates scoring between 92% and 94% will be eligible for a laptop, while those securing 95% or above will receive an e-bike.
The programme is designed to provide young Pakistanis with practical digital and technical skills that can support employment, entrepreneurship and participation in the growing online economy.
