RAWALPINDI: Pir Mehr Ali Shah Arid Agriculture University Rawalpindi (PMAS-AAUR) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Seyrab Water Systems to strengthen cooperation in water management, groundwater research, technology development and innovation.
The agreement was signed during a meeting at the university chaired by Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Qamar-uz-Zaman, with senior university officials, including the registrar, deans and directors, also in attendance.
Under the MoU, the two sides will work to develop joint initiatives focused on water-related research, technological solutions and programmes aimed at addressing emerging challenges in water resource management.
Speaking at the meeting, Dr. Qamar-uz-Zaman said effective water management had become increasingly important as pressure on water resources continues to grow. He said closer collaboration between academia and the private sector could help develop practical solutions in groundwater management, research and applied technology.
He added that the partnership would provide a platform for joint research, innovation and technology-driven projects in areas linked to water conservation and sustainable resource management.
Adnan Faisal, founder of Seyrab Water Systems, described the agreement as an important first step towards building a longer-term partnership with the university.
He said both sides would explore opportunities for research, innovation and development, with a focus on applying technology to water-related challenges.
The collaboration is expected to strengthen links between academic research and industry expertise while supporting efforts to develop more efficient and sustainable approaches to water management in Pakistan.
