KARACHI: Atif Aslam celebrated the release of his new album “Subah Aye Na” at a Spotify-hosted event in Karachi, where fans, creators and leading names from Pakistan’s entertainment industry joined the singer for a night of live music and special performances.
The event marked the release of Atif Aslam’s first full-length album in 18 years and brought together Spotify Premium listeners, influencers and artists as the singer reflected on his return to the album format after nearly two decades.
One of the biggest moments of the evening came when Fahad Mustafa, Talha Anjum and Asim Azhar joined Atif onstage for a performance of his popular song “Hum Kis Gali Ja Rahe Hain”.
The collaboration quickly became one of the most talked-about moments from the event, with clips and reactions circulating across social media.
Spotify also invited two of Atif’s most dedicated listeners onstage to present him with a special guitar. According to the streaming platform, both fans ranked among the top 10 per cent of Atif Aslam listeners on Spotify in Pakistan.
Speaking to fans, Atif said returning with a complete album after 18 years had required time, patience and a different creative process from releasing individual songs.
“It’s been 18 years since I released a full album, and the journey from releasing individual songs to putting together an album is very different,” he said.
Atif credited the continued support of his listeners for motivating him to work on “Subah Aye Na”.
“The love I’ve received from my fans over all these years is what gave me the motivation to do that,” he said, adding that the album was, in many ways, the result of years of encouragement from his audience.
The event also featured Spotify’s “Discover Your Inner Aadeez” experience, an in-app feature built around Atif Aslam’s fan community.
The experience groups listeners into four personas — OG Aadeez, Early Discoverer Aadeez, Moonrise Aadeez and Borderless Aadeez — based on how and when they connected with his music.
“Subah Aye Na” represents a major new chapter in Atif Aslam’s career, reconnecting the singer with long-time listeners while reaching a younger generation discovering his music through streaming platforms.
Spotify said the Karachi event was designed to bring together different generations of Atif’s fanbase and give listeners new ways to engage with the album and the artist.
