Traffic police in Lahore uncovered an unusual registration record during a routine enforcement operation after finding that a single individual allegedly had 421 vehicles registered in his name.

The discovery was made during a general traffic checking campaign when officers stopped a motorcyclist and verified the ownership details of his vehicle. According to officials, the individual, identified as Baz Muhammad, was found to have 421 vehicles, rickshaws and motorcycles registered under his name.

The revelation surprised traffic police officers and prompted further scrutiny of the registration records and outstanding traffic violations linked to the vehicles.

More than Rs2 million in unpaid e-challans

According to police records, vehicles registered under Baz Muhammad’s name have accumulated more than Rs2.08 million in unpaid e-challans.

During the operation, the motorcycle being used by the individual was impounded and shifted to Muslim Town Police Station.

Officials said efforts against e-challan defaulters have been intensified on the instructions of Syed Abdul Raheem Shirazi.

Crackdown on registration irregularities

Traffic authorities said unpaid e-challans worth millions of rupees remain a significant challenge for enforcement agencies. Officials have also expanded investigations into suspicious and potentially fraudulent vehicle registrations in the city.

Authorities stated that a zero-tolerance policy remains in place against traffic law violators and chronic defaulters, warning that stricter enforcement measures will continue in the coming weeks.
