Chinese Professor Praises Peshawar’s China Window for Cultural Outreach

PESHAWAR: Professor Zhang Naiwen of Yunnan Normal University has praised China Window in Peshawar for promoting Chinese culture, strengthening Pakistan-China friendship and expanding people-to-people contacts between the two countries.

During a visit to the Chinese cultural and information centre, Professor Zhang toured its galleries and received a briefing on its cultural, educational and public diplomacy activities.

He reviewed photographs, displays and exhibits featuring China’s history, culture, development, tourism and traditions, as well as the longstanding relationship between Pakistan and China.

Professor Zhang said the centre presented Chinese culture in a systematic and accessible way, giving Pakistani visitors an opportunity to better understand China and its people.

“This is our first visit to China Window in Peshawar. We all feel that Chinese culture has been presented here in a very systematic and impressive way,” he said.

He also interviewed China Window Administrator Amjad Aziz Malik about the centre’s establishment, its objectives and activities carried out since its inception.

During the interaction, Professor Zhang was briefed on China Window’s work in cultural understanding, Chinese language education, educational exchanges, youth engagement and broader interaction between the peoples of Pakistan and China.

Professor Zhang described the centre as an example of grassroots people-to-people diplomacy and said its work reflected strong public interest in deepening cultural ties between the two countries.

He also noted that China Window had emerged as a platform for cultural exchange and friendship and expressed hope that its activities would continue to expand.

Amjad Aziz Malik thanked Professor Zhang for visiting the centre and said China Window would continue working to promote mutual understanding, cultural exchanges and stronger people-to-people relations between Pakistan and China.
