An elderly woman who spent years begging outside a mosque in Mandya, India, reportedly had more than 3 million Indian rupees stored at her home when she died, surprising local residents.
The woman, identified as Hoor, lived in the Guttalu Layout area of Mandya and was known to seek alms outside a local mosque. She reportedly often complained that her family did not adequately care for her and that she had to rely on public donations to meet her expenses.
According to the report, a search of her home after her death uncovered sacks filled with currency notes and coins. The money was counted at more than 3 million Indian rupees, equivalent to over Rs8.7 million in Pakistani currency based on the conversion cited in the report.
Local residents said the total amount could be between 3 million and 4 million Indian rupees, although the exact figure was not independently established in the information provided.
