Peshawar police have arrested four suspects, including the husband of a woman who was allegedly shot dead on a roadside in the city, officials said.

The incident occurred in the Ram Pura Gate area within the jurisdiction of Shahid Gulfat Hussain Police Station. Police said the victim was the mother of young children.

Police Arrest Four Suspects

Following the incident, City SP Shahid Adnan ordered a special investigation. A police team led by DSP Hashtnagri Waris Khan and SHO Saleem Khan Khalil traced and arrested the four suspects within hours.

The arrested suspects were identified as the victim’s husband Zohaib, his brother Zubair, sister and mother.

Police said the victim’s husband allegedly told investigators that the killing was linked to what he described as an “honour” issue. He allegedly accused his wife of being a “party girl,” though the investigation into the circumstances and motive remains ongoing.

Police recovered the alleged murder weapon and the vehicle believed to have been used in the incident. The victim’s body was shifted to hospital for a post-mortem examination.

A case was registered on the complaint of the victim’s father, Najam Iqbal. Police said further investigation is underway to establish the full circumstances of the killing and determine the role of each suspect
