A nine-year-old madrasa student allegedly died after suffering physical assault at a religious seminary in Kallar Syedan, Rawalpindi, with police taking two people into custody for questioning.
The child, identified as Faizan, was reportedly a resident of Bhakkar and had been studying at the madrasa for about four months. According to police, his family noticed marks of alleged violence on his body while preparing the body for burial in Bhakkar and subsequently contacted authorities.
Police said a case has been registered and two suspects have been taken into custody. Authorities said action would be taken against all those found involved in the incident.
