SWAT: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Food Safety and Halal Food Authority has destroyed more than 3,000 litres of adulterated milk during a large-scale enforcement operation in Swat aimed at protecting consumers from unsafe food products.
The crackdown targeted milk being transported into the district, with food safety officials using mobile testing facilities to identify substandard and adulterated supplies. Authorities said the operation is part of ongoing efforts to improve food safety during the summer season.
Mobile Laboratory Used to Detect Adulteration
Assistant Director Dr. Murad Ali said the operation was conducted on the directives of the Provincial Food Minister and the Director General of the Food Safety and Halal Food Authority.
He said permanent inspection checkpoints have been established at the Swat Motorway and Lindakay check posts, where food safety teams are screening milk entering the district.
Officials are using a modern mobile laboratory to test milk for water dilution and chemical adulteration before it reaches consumers.
Authorities Vow Continued Enforcement
Dr. Murad Ali said the authority will continue inspections to ensure the availability of safe and high-quality milk across Swat.
He also urged members of the public to report suspected cases of food adulteration, saying public cooperation is essential to strengthening food safety enforcement in the province.
