ISLAMABAD: Booking for the Private Hajj Scheme through the Hajj Portal will continue until the allocated quota is filled, the Ministry of Religious Affairs said, as all seats under the Government Hajj Scheme were taken within seven days.
According to a statement issued by the ministry, the government’s policy to fully digitalise the Hajj operation is producing positive results, with strong demand recorded for the available packages.
The ministry said all seats allocated under the Government Hajj Scheme were filled within just seven days of the payment process opening.
Demand was particularly strong for the 20-to-25-day Short Hajj Package, whose allocated seats were filled within the first 24 hours.
The ministry said the remaining seats under the Long Hajj Package were also expected to be filled by 12 noon on Tuesday.
Meanwhile, intending pilgrims seeking to perform Hajj through the Private Hajj Scheme can continue booking through the Hajj Portal until the designated quota is exhausted, according to the ministry.
The Ministry of Religious Affairs described the filling of all Government Hajj Scheme seats within seven days as significant progress in the ongoing Hajj process.
The collection of Hajj payments began during the night between August 18 and 19, the ministry added.
Authorities said the digitalisation of the Hajj operation was aimed at streamlining the process and facilitating intending pilgrims through an increasingly digital system.
