ISLAMABAD: Security authorities safely defused a missile recovered during excavation work in Islamabad’s I-9 sector after construction workers discovered the object at a residential plot.
The discovery prompted an immediate response from the Bomb Disposal (BD) team, which examined the object, completed the required safety procedures, and declared the area secure after the operation.
Bomb Disposal Team Responds
According to official sources, the missile-like object was found during excavation at Plot No. 381 within the jurisdiction of I-9 Police Station.
After receiving the report, the Bomb Disposal team reached the site and conducted a detailed inspection of the object.
Area Declared Safe
Officials said the BD team safely neutralized the missile and completed all necessary disposal procedures without incident.
Following the operation, authorities cleared the area and confirmed there was no further threat to public safety.
No injuries or damage were reported, and officials have not released additional details about the origin or type of the recovered missile.
