SUJAWAL: Members of the All Pakistan Clerks Association (APCA) held a protest demonstration at Civil Hospital Sujawal on Tuesday, calling on the government to announce a substantial salary increase for public sector employees in the upcoming federal budget amid rising inflation.

The protest was organized by APCA District Sujawal and drew participation from government employees, paramedical staff, and association representatives. Protesters expressed concern over the increasing cost of living and urged authorities to provide financial relief to employees through the next budget.

The demonstration was led by APCA District Sujawal President Noor Muhammad Memon, General Secretary Sikandar Memon, Patron-in-Chief Haji Khamiso Khawaja, Fazil Soomro, APCA Civil Hospital Unit President, Deputy General Secretary Shiraz Memon, and Information Secretary Maqbool Theem.

Employees cite inflation concerns

Addressing the gathering, APCA leaders said rising inflation had placed significant financial pressure on working-class families and government employees. They argued that existing salaries were no longer sufficient to meet basic household expenses.

The speakers called on the federal government to announce a meaningful salary increase that reflects the rising cost of living and helps employees manage growing economic challenges.

Warning of expanded protests

The association warned that if employee salaries are not increased in line with inflation, it may broaden its protest campaign across Sujawal district and other parts of the province.

Participants said government employees are facing mounting financial difficulties and urged policymakers to consider their concerns while finalizing the upcoming federal budget.

The protest concluded peacefully, with participants reiterating their demand for greater financial support for public sector workers.
