A comprehensive emergency plan has been devised by the Cantonment Board Wah (CBW) to ensure cleanliness during Eid al-Adha, utilizing Information Technology (IT). Cantonment Executive Officer Imran Khan, along with other officials, including Assistant Secretary, Muhammad Amin, Manager IT Mr. Kashif Afridi , and Public Health Officer Mr. Nisar Ahmed, briefed newsmen about the plan, which focuses on removing animal waste and carcasses during Eid al-Adha. The garrison city has been divided into ward-wise sections, with area inspectors responsible for waste removal and cleanliness. He added that, complaints will be registered through an IT-based system, tracking the timeline for waste removal and digitally monitoring progress in each area. Feedback from complainants will be ensured through a third-party check. All sanitation workers and CBW staff have had their leaves canceled during Eid al-Adha. He said that, over 400 personnel, including sanitary workers, sweepers, supervisors, and officers, will work around the clock for three days. 60 vehicles, including tractors, trollies, trucks, and compactors, will be utilized 24/7. A control room has been established at the Cantonment Board office to monitor the situation. Residents are urged to use collective slaughterhouses for animal sacrifice to facilitate easy collection and disposal of waste. Citizens are advised not to throw waste into drains, forests, or garbage trollies to prevent the spread of diseases and odors in the city.
