Karachi Commissioner Reviews Civic Services

KARACHI: Commissioner Karachi Syed Hassan Naqvi conducted a detailed visit to Jinnah Town and Gulshan-e-Iqbal to review road conditions, sanitation arrangements and ongoing efforts to remove encroachments.

Deputy Commissioner East Nasirullah Abbasi, Assistant Commissioner Jamshed Zone Bilal Alvi, Municipal Commissioner Jinnah Town Rais Elahi Bakhsh Banbhan and Municipal Commissioner Gulshan-e-Iqbal Town Javed-ur-Rehman Kalloor accompanied the commissioner during the visit.

The commissioner inspected several major roads, commercial areas and other important locations to assess sanitation conditions, civic facilities and measures being taken against encroachments.

During the visit, Municipal Commissioner Rais Elahi Bakhsh Banbhan briefed the commissioner on ongoing sanitation operations, road-related matters and action against encroachments.

Syed Hassan Naqvi directed the relevant departments to improve sanitation services and ensure coordinated and sustained action against encroachments to provide residents with a cleaner and better urban environment.

Officials from Jinnah Town and Gulshan-e-Iqbal Town, the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation’s anti-encroachment department and the Sindh Solid Waste Management Board also participated in the inspection.

Plantation campaign launched

Later, Deputy Commissioner East Nasirullah Abbasi planted a sapling to formally launch a plantation campaign.

Municipal Commissioner Jinnah Town Rais Elahi Bakhsh Banbhan and other officials also planted saplings as part of the campaign.

The officials expressed their commitment to increasing greenery and improving the environmental conditions of Karachi through continued plantation efforts.
