Missing Mother and 2-Month-Old Daughter Recovered in Karachi

KARACHI: Investigation police in Ittehad Town have recovered a woman and her two-month-old daughter who had been missing for several weeks, according to police officials.

SSP Investigation District Keamari Masroor Ahmed Jatoi said the woman, identified as Malaika Umaima, had gone missing from the Ittehad Town area on July 21 along with her infant daughter.

Following their disappearance, a kidnapping case was registered at Ittehad Town Police Station, after which the investigation team began efforts to trace the mother and child.

Police said the investigation team used technical methods to locate the pair and successfully recovered them safely.

According to the SSP, the woman told investigators during the initial inquiry that she had left home after becoming upset over domestic disputes.

Police said further investigation into the circumstances surrounding the disappearance is underway.
