SWAT: Special Assistant to the Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa for Tourism and Culture, Malik Adil Iqbal, has said that Swat Valley presents significant opportunities for tourism investment, with the provincial government taking practical measures to attract both local and international investors.
Speaking to the media during a pre-bid meeting for Swat Hotel, formerly known as Serena Hotel Swat, Malik Adil Iqbal said the government’s efforts are focused on promoting transparency and creating a business-friendly environment for investors interested in the tourism sector.
He noted that both domestic and foreign investors had shown strong interest in the bidding process, while a large number of participants attended the pre-bid meeting and shared suggestions regarding investment opportunities and project implementation.
Government highlights investor interest
According to Malik Adil Iqbal, the roadshow and pre-bid meeting were organized to facilitate investors and provide detailed information about the bidding process, investment terms and available opportunities.
He said the provincial government is committed to modernizing tourism infrastructure and encouraging greater private-sector participation in the industry.
Officials briefed investors on various aspects of the project, while feedback received during the meeting was reviewed by the relevant authorities.
Tourism growth expected to support local economy
The adviser said increased investment in Swat and other tourist destinations across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa would help expand tourism activities and create employment opportunities for local communities.
He added that the province’s tourism sector has continued to attract growing interest due to its natural attractions, improved accessibility and government-led development initiatives.
Record tourist arrivals during Eid holidays
Malik Adil Iqbal said the large number of visitors who traveled to Swat during the Eid-ul-Azha holidays reflected the area’s growing popularity among domestic and international tourists.
He described the increase in tourist arrivals as evidence of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s emergence as a leading tourism destination in Pakistan.
The provincial government, he said, will continue efforts to improve facilities for visitors and promote sustainable tourism development throughout the province.
