Punjab Sports Minister Opens New Squash, Table Tennis Facilities in Faisalabad

FAISALABAD: Punjab Sports Minister Malik Faisal Ayub Khokhar inaugurated new squash and table tennis facilities at Al-Fatah Sports Complex in Faisalabad on Thursday as part of the provincial government’s push to expand sports infrastructure and training opportunities for young athletes.

During the visit, Khokhar also inspected the badminton court, karate facility, mat wrestling area, gym, football ground and other sections of the complex.

Officials briefed the minister on available facilities, training programmes and the overall performance of the sports complex.

Khokhar said engaging young people in healthy and positive activities remained a priority for the Punjab government, adding that sports help promote discipline, teamwork, tolerance and confidence.

He said the provincial government, under Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, was working to improve sports grounds and training centres across Punjab and create more opportunities for young athletes to showcase their talent.

The minister said Faisalabad’s sports facilities were also being upgraded to make them more functional, modern and better equipped.

He added that improved infrastructure and quality training environments could help athletes enhance their performance and compete more effectively at national and international levels.

Khokhar directed the relevant officers to ensure full use of the facilities available at Al-Fatah Sports Complex and provide athletes with a supportive training environment.

The Divisional Sports Officer, District Sports Officer and other officials of the Sports Department were also present during the visit.
