LAHORE: The Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF) has disbursed Rs45 million to national team players ahead of their departure for the FIH Pro League, clearing outstanding dues and providing advance payments before the international tournament.

The payment package includes prize money announced by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif for the team’s qualification for the FIH Hockey World Cup, along with advance daily allowances related to the Pro League campaign.

According to PHF President Mohiuddin Wani, each player has received approximately Rs700,000 in connection with the Pro League, while an additional Rs1.5 million per player has been paid as a reward for securing qualification for the FIH Hockey World Cup.

Payments cleared before departure

The federation said all pending dues were paid in advance to ensure players could focus on preparations and participation in the upcoming competition without financial concerns.

The move comes as Pakistan continues preparations for the FIH Pro League, one of the sport’s leading international competitions featuring top-ranked national teams.

Support for national hockey team

PHF officials said the payments reflect ongoing efforts to support players and strengthen the national hockey programme ahead of key international events.

The national squad is scheduled to travel for its Pro League commitments after receiving the financial package from the federation.
