Pakistan opener Imam-ul-Haq is facing a fitness concern after suffering a low-grade left calf strain during the second Test against England at Lord’s, with his further participation in the match dependent on his recovery.
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) confirmed that Imam sustained the injury while fielding on the opening day of the Test. Subsequent scans confirmed a low-grade strain, and the batter is currently being treated by the Pakistan team’s medical staff.
Imam-ul-Haq Under Medical Supervision
According to the PCB, Imam’s availability for the remainder of the Test will be assessed based on his recovery following treatment. The board has not confirmed how long he is expected to remain unavailable.
The injury comes during Pakistan’s ongoing three-Test tour of England, with the second Test being played at Lord’s from August 27 to 31.
On the opening day, England reached 248 for nine before bad light brought play to an early close, with Mohammad Abbas taking four wickets for Pakistan.
The second day began with England eventually being bowled out for 290, before Pakistan lost early wickets in their reply.
