Twenty-one former international cricket captains have written to Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif again, urging that former Pakistan captain and PTI founder Imran Khan receive appropriate medical treatment.
The former cricketers said in their latest letter that recent developments did not appear to be in line with directions issued by Pakistan’s Supreme Court regarding Khan’s medical care.

The letter was signed by prominent former captains and international cricketers, including Michael Atherton, Alex Blackwell, Allan Border, Mike Brearley, Greg Chappell, Ian Chappell, Belinda Clark, Alastair Cook, Mike Gatting, Sunil Gavaskar, Adam Gilchrist, David Gower, Kim Hughes, Nasser Hussain, Clive Lloyd, Kapil Dev, Arjuna Ranatunga, Andrew Strauss, Dilip Vengsarkar, Steve Waugh and John Wright.
The former players reiterated their earlier appeal concerning the medical treatment of Imran Khan, who has been in detention.
Reference to Supreme Court Directions
According to the letter, the Supreme Court had directed that Imran Khan be transferred to a hospital for examination by a medical board.
The signatories said the proposed board was to include Khan’s personal doctors as well as his sister, Dr Uzma Khan.
The court had also ordered the restoration of weekly meetings between Khan and his family, according to the letter.
The latest appeal comes as the former cricketers seek implementation of the medical arrangements they say were outlined by the Supreme Court.
