KARACHI: The semi-final lineup for the PSA Sindh Challenger Squash Championship has been confirmed, with Pakistan’s Nasir Iqbal, Abdullah Nawaz and Tayyab Aslam joined by Egypt’s Omar El-Kattan in the last four in Karachi.
The quarter-finals were played at the Jahangir Khan Sports Club under the auspices of the Sindh Squash Association. The five-day tournament carries a total prize purse of $6,000.
Nasir Iqbal, Omar El-Kattan Set for Semi-Final
Top seed Nasir Iqbal defeated Azan Ali Khan in 33 minutes, winning 11-6, 11-7 and 12-10 to secure his place in the semi-finals.
Fourth-seeded Egyptian Omar El-Kattan advanced with a straight-games victory over Anas Khan, winning 11-9, 11-6 and 11-8.
Nasir Iqbal and Omar El-Kattan will meet in the first semi-final on Saturday.
Abdullah Nawaz, Tayyab Aslam Complete Lineup
Abdullah Nawaz booked his place in the last four with a 3-0 win over Shamlan Gul.
In the other quarter-final, Tayyab Aslam defeated Saeed Abdul 3-1. He won the contest 11-4, 13-11, 5-11 and 11-8.
Tayyab Aslam will face Abdullah Nawaz in the second semi-final.
