Bangladesh wicketkeeper-batter Litton Das has claimed that Pakistan’s Mohammad Rizwan did not shake hands with members of the Bangladesh team following a recent Test match between the two sides.
The comments come months after a heated on-field exchange between the two wicketkeepers during Pakistan’s Test series in Bangladesh, where the hosts completed a historic series victory.
Speaking in a recent interview, Litton Das said that competitive tensions are common during matches, but players should move on once the game ends.
According to Litton, all members of the Pakistan team greeted the Bangladesh players after the match except Rizwan. He said that if Rizwan had a personal issue with him, it would be a separate matter, but he questioned why the entire Bangladesh team was excluded from the post-match handshake.
On-field exchange during Test series
The two players were involved in a verbal exchange during the first Test match after Litton Das accused Rizwan of wasting time during play.
Reflecting on the incident, Litton said he deliberately tried to put pressure on Rizwan because he considered him one of Pakistan’s most dangerous batters against Bangladesh, alongside Babar Azam.
He added that he believed Rizwan was slowing the game down and said the hot weather conditions behind the stumps made the situation more frustrating from his perspective.
Mohammad Rizwan has not publicly responded to Litton Das’s latest remarks. The claims made by the Bangladesh cricketer have not been independently verified.
