The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has completed the renovation and refurbishment of the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium under its plan to upgrade the country’s three major cricket centers for the Champions Trophy.The renovation project has given the Pindi Stadium a new look. The stadium’s renovation work is in its final stages and is expected to be completed soon.
Under the project, over 10,000 new seats have been installed in the stadium’s stands. Previously, two of the stands did not have seating, and spectators would either sit on cement stands or temporary seating arrangements would be made.
The PCB has also constructed 20 hospitality boxes, which will allow fans to watch matches from a more luxurious setting. Additionally, two new digital screens have been installed, replacing the old ones.
The PCB stated that minor renovation work would be completed within the week. Work on numbering seats, cleaning, and maintenance is ongoing. The ground has also been sprayed to prevent mosquitoes.
The Pindi Stadium will host three matches during the ICC Champions Trophy 2025,Bangladesh vs. New Zealand on February 24, Australia vs. South Africa on February 25, and Pakistan vs. Bangladesh on February 27.
On the other hand, the PCB and has made stringent security arrangements for the tournament In collaboration with security agencies, Punjab Police and District Administration. Over 6,000 personnel will be deployed around the Pindi Stadium for the three matches.
