ISLAMABAD: The Saudi-Pak Business Council has expressed interest in investing in Pakistan’s motorway infrastructure, signaling potential collaboration in several major transport projects aimed at strengthening connectivity and supporting economic growth.
The interest was conveyed during a meeting between Chairman of the Saudi-Pak Business Council Prince Mansour Bin Muhammad Al Saud and Federal Minister for Communications Abdul Aleem Khan. The two sides discussed bilateral cooperation and opportunities for Saudi investment in Pakistan’s expanding infrastructure sector.
During the meeting, Abdul Aleem Khan invited Saudi investors to participate in ongoing and planned motorway projects, highlighting their commercial potential and strategic importance for regional trade and transportation.
The minister specifically identified the M-6 Sukkur-Hyderabad Motorway, M-10 Karachi Port Motorway and M-13 Kharian-Rawalpindi Motorway as projects offering strong investment prospects. He said these routes are expected to play a key role in improving logistics, facilitating trade and supporting economic activity across the country.
Saudi delegation signals interest
Prince Mansour Bin Muhammad Al Saud said the Saudi-Pak Business Council was keen to explore partnership opportunities in Pakistan’s communications and infrastructure sectors.
According to the statement, the council believes there is significant potential for cooperation in motorway development and other large-scale infrastructure initiatives.
The discussions also focused on strengthening economic ties between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia through increased private-sector collaboration and investment.
Focus on infrastructure and economic cooperation
Abdul Aleem Khan said Pakistan’s expanding road network is contributing to regional connectivity and creating new opportunities for investment and trade.
He assured the Saudi delegation that viable and commercially attractive investment models would be offered to interested investors. The minister added that Pakistan values Saudi Arabia’s support and participation in major national development projects.
The communications minister also emphasized the longstanding relationship between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia, describing it as a partnership built on deep historical, economic and people-to-people ties.
Strengthening bilateral relations
At the conclusion of the meeting, Prince Mansour expressed optimism about future cooperation and assured the minister of the Saudi-Pak Business Council’s support in advancing economic engagement between the two countries.
Officials said the platform of the Saudi-Pak Business Council would continue to serve as an important mechanism for strengthening business links and encouraging investment in sectors of mutual interest.
Senior officials from the Ministry of Communications and representatives from both sides also attended the meeting.
