More than 15.23 million people performed Umrah during the first quarter of the current Umrah season in Saudi Arabia, according to data released by the Saudi General Authority for Statistics.
The total number of Umrah performers reached 15,233,767, with around 9.5 million coming from within Saudi Arabia. Men accounted for 56.4% of the total, while women represented 40.6%.
Majority of Pilgrims Came From Within Saudi Arabia
According to the statistics, Saudi citizens accounted for 28.9% of those who performed Umrah during the period, while the remaining pilgrims arrived from outside the Kingdom.
The figures highlight the large volume of domestic and international visitors travelling to Saudi Arabia to perform Umrah during the ongoing season.
Umrah Visa Deadlines Announced
The Saudi Ministry of Hajj and Umrah has set March 9, 2027, as the final date for issuing Umrah visas for the current season. Pilgrims who obtain visas must enter Saudi Arabia by March 23, 2027.
With large numbers of visitors expected throughout the season, Saudi authorities are also focusing on accommodation, transportation and other services for Umrah pilgrims.
