RAWALPINDI, June 28, 2026: Security forces foiled a Pakistan Rangers Sindh Camp attack in Karachi after armed assailants detonated an explosive at the main gate and attempted to breach the camp’s perimeter, the Inter-Services Public Relations said on Saturday.
According to ISPR, the attack took place on June 27 and was carried out by terrorists affiliated with Jamaat-ul-Ahrar. Rangers troops responded to the assault, killing three attackers and capturing one injured suspect, who the military’s media wing said was an Afghan national.
Three Rangers personnel embraced martyrdom during the exchange of fire, while four soldiers were injured, ISPR said.
The military said the attackers were linked to what it described as an Indian-backed terrorist network. The statement said sanitization operations were underway in the area to clear any remaining threat.

ISPR said security forces and law enforcement agencies were continuing counterterrorism operations under the Azm-e-Istehkam framework to eliminate foreign-sponsored terrorism from the country.
The statement added that Pakistan would carry out operations against those responsible for the attack to avenge the martyrdom of its soldiers.
Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces expressed condolences to the families of the soldiers who lost their lives in the attack, saying their sacrifices reinforced the country’s commitment to national security.
