Security forces killed 14 militants during an intelligence-based operation in the Naal area of Khuzdar district, Balochistan, after receiving reports that they were planning attacks on a nearby police station and banks, according to the military’s media wing.
The operation was launched on June 8 following intelligence regarding the presence of militants identified by Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) as members of Fitna al Hindustan. The military said the action was carried out to prevent the planned attacks and disrupt militant activity in the area.
According to ISPR, security forces swiftly moved to intercept the militants and engaged them during the operation. After an intense exchange of fire, 14 militants were killed while several others were injured.
The military said four vehicles allegedly being used by the militants were destroyed during the operation. Improvised explosive devices (IEDs) found at the site were also destroyed.
Soldier Martyred During Operation
ISPR said Lance Havildar Muhammad Abbass was martyred while fighting during the operation.
The military paid tribute to the soldier’s sacrifice, stating that he fought gallantly during the exchange of fire before embracing martyrdom.
Sanitisation Operation Underway
According to ISPR, sanitisation operations are continuing in the area to locate and eliminate any remaining militants.
The military said ongoing counterterrorism efforts under the “Azm-e-Istehkam” strategy, approved by the Federal Apex Committee under the National Action Plan, will continue in coordination with law enforcement agencies.
Balochistan has remained a key focus of counterterrorism operations aimed at preventing attacks on civilians, public institutions and security personnel.
