Mirpur – In observance of World Health Day, Muslim Hands in District Mirpur reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening and expanding healthcare services across Azad Kashmir. The organization aims to reach a wider population with essential medical facilities and has accelerated its ongoing efforts in the region.

Muslim Hands is currently offering a variety of health services, including free eye treatment units, surgical eye camps, health units, and free pharmacies, benefiting thousands of people in need. Eye care units have been established in several locations including Bangriela Islamgarh, Dadyal, Sehnsa, Hajira, Tararkhal, and Samahni. These units provide vital treatments and medications for various eye-related conditions and have helped restore the vision of thousands of patients.
To further enhance accessibility to healthcare, Muslim Hands has set up health units in Ghazi Gharah, Chhoa, and Patni near the Line of Control. These centers offer regular medical check-ups and free medications to the local population. Additionally, the organization supplies anti-rabies medicines through its pharmacy in Sehnsa.
In Mirpur and surrounding areas, Muslim Hands conducts free general medical camps specifically for registered orphan children, ensuring they receive high-quality medical care at no cost. Every year, the organization organizes dozens of free surgical eye camps in different parts of Azad Kashmir. These camps are staffed by expert medical teams who perform check-ups and surgeries, followed by free distribution of necessary medications. Thousands of patients have benefited from these services in recent years.
A major initiative by Muslim Hands includes the establishment of a free pharmacy at District Headquarters Hospital, Mirpur. This facility provides essential medicines to poor and underprivileged patients, especially those who cannot afford costly treatments. The pharmacy has proven to be a lifeline for many facing financial constraints.
With a growing network of health services, Muslim Hands continues to play a vital role in supporting and improving public health infrastructure in Azad Kashmir.
