ISLAMABAD – Mobilink Bank in collaboration with the Depilex Smileagain Foundation has launched a social investment initiative aimed at supporting women burn survivors through sustainable mobility solutions.

Under the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programme, the initiative provides 25 electric scooters to female survivors of acid and kerosene burn violence, with the aim of improving their access to education, employment, healthcare, and daily mobility.

The handover ceremony was held in Lahore, where senior representatives from both organisations attended and highlighted the importance of addressing mobility challenges faced by women rebuilding their lives after trauma.

Focus on independence and rehabilitation

Officials said the initiative is designed to help survivors regain independence and participate more fully in society. By providing transport support, the programme seeks to remove barriers that often limit access to essential services and economic opportunities.

Organisers also noted that electric scooters were selected to promote environmentally sustainable mobility alongside social inclusion.

Statements from stakeholders

Mobilink Bank’s Head of Strategy & Sustainability, Khowla Shoaib, said the initiative is intended to support women in rebuilding their lives by improving access to key opportunities, including education and employment.

Depilex Smileagain Foundation Founder Musarrat Misbah said mobility is a critical part of rehabilitation, enabling survivors to regain dignity and independence as they reintegrate into society.

The partnership reflects broader ESG-focused efforts by Mobilink Bank aimed at supporting underserved communities and promoting inclusive development through targeted social investment programmes.
