LAHORE, April 20 — A fire at a chemical factory near Hanjarwal in Lahore was brought under control after a coordinated emergency response, with authorities confirming no loss of life and ordering an investigation into the incident.
Punjab Energy Minister Malik Faisal Ayub Khokhar visited the site and directed emergency teams to use all available resources to contain the blaze, which intensified due to the presence of chemicals.
Rapid response contains blaze
Rescue 1122, fire brigade units, and other emergency services were deployed to the site, with additional firefighting vehicles sent to speed up containment efforts.
Officials said the fire was controlled in time, while cooling operations continued to prevent any flare-up.
No injuries reported
Authorities confirmed that no casualties were reported, attributing it to the timely and coordinated response of emergency services.
Security and safety measures were also implemented in surrounding areas to prevent further risk.
Investigation ordered into cause
The provincial minister ordered a comprehensive inquiry to determine the cause of the fire and assess any possible negligence.
He directed authorities to take strict action if violations are found and called for a review of industrial safety protocols to prevent similar incidents in the future.
