RAWALPINDI, Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir visited Pakistan Ordnance Factory (POF) in Wah, the country’s largest defence industrial complex, to review its production capabilities, export potential and contribution to Pakistan’s defence industrial base.
During the visit, the Field Marshal was briefed on various aspects of POF’s operations and its role in strengthening national defence through the indigenous development and production of a diverse range of military equipment.
Field Marshal Asim Munir also witnessed tests and trials of locally designed and manufactured arms and ammunition, highlighting POF’s efforts toward innovation, self-reliance and enhanced defence production capabilities.
He was given an overview of progress on the corporatization process following the enactment of the DIPRA Ordinance.
The COAS and CDF was further briefed on ongoing indigenisation and upgradation initiatives, including the installation of two new industrial plants. The plants are expected to commence production by the end of the current year.
The visit underscored the military leadership’s focus on strengthening Pakistan’s defence industrial base through greater self-reliance, indigenous production and technological innovation.
