Bangladesh fast bowling coach Shaun Tait resigns for family reasons

DHAKA, June 4: Bangladesh cricket team’s fast bowling coach Shaun Tait has resigned from his position, ending his tenure with the national side less than a year after taking up the role.

According to cricket media reports, the former Australian fast bowler stepped down due to family commitments. His resignation comes despite having a contract with the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) that was due to run until November 2027.

Tait expressed gratitude for his time with the Bangladesh team, describing the past 12 months as a rewarding experience.

Tait reflects on his tenure

In comments following his resignation, Tait said his period with the Bangladesh Cricket Board and the national team had been enjoyable and memorable.

The former Australian pacer joined Bangladesh as fast bowling coach as part of the team’s efforts to strengthen its pace-bowling resources ahead of major international competitions.

Experienced coach with international background

Before joining Bangladesh, Tait worked in coaching roles with several international teams, including Pakistan, the West Indies and Afghanistan.

The Bangladesh Cricket Board has not yet announced a replacement for the position.

Tait’s departure leaves Bangladesh searching for a new fast bowling coach as the team continues preparations for upcoming international assignments.
