KARACHI: The trophy for the National Women’s U19 Tournament 2026-27 was unveiled in Karachi on Wednesday, with the five-team competition set to begin on August 20.
The tournament will run until September 4 at the NBP Sports Complex and HPC Oval Ground in Karachi, featuring 75 Under-19 players from across Pakistan.
The trophy unveiling ceremony was attended by the captains of all five participating teams — Samia Afzal, Fiza Fayyaz, Raveel Farhan, Komal Khan and Zofshan Aya.
Tournament to Feature Two Formats
According to the Pakistan Cricket Board, the competition has been divided into two phases to provide players with a wider range of competitive opportunities.
The first phase will feature 30-over matches, while the second phase will be played in the T20 format. The final will also be contested as a T20 match.
Each team will play eight matches during the double-league round-robin stage. The top two teams at the end of the league phase will qualify for the final on September 4.
Pathway for Emerging Women Cricketers
The PCB said the tournament is intended to help identify and develop emerging talent for Pakistan’s women’s cricket structure.
The competition will also contribute to the selection pool for major upcoming age-group events, including the ACC Women’s U19 Asia Cup and ICC Women’s U19 World Cup.
The tournament provides young players with an opportunity to gain competitive experience while strengthening the pathway toward higher levels of domestic and international women’s cricket.
