BAKU: Pakistan’s national Qazaq Kuresi team is competing at the Qazaq Kuresi World Championship in Azerbaijan, representing the country at the international event being held at the Baku Sports Palace from August 22 to 23.

The Pakistani contingent comprises Iran Shehzadi, competing in the 48kg category, and Mohammad Ehtisham, who is participating in the 74kg category.

The championship, organised under the auspices of United World Wrestling (UWW), has brought together athletes from different countries to compete in Qazaq Kuresi, the traditional Kazakh style of wrestling.

Pakistan’s participation in the championship provides its athletes with an opportunity to gain international exposure while strengthening the country’s presence in traditional wrestling competitions.
