A comprehensive training session on Public-Private Partnership (PPP) was organized by the Punjab Municipal Development Fund Company (PMDFC) in collaboration with the German development agency GIZ.
Over 50 officials from across the province, including Chief Officers, Municipal Officers, Deputy Directors, and Assistant Directors, participated in the training.
Special Secretary Local Government, Arshad Beg, graced the occasion and addressed the participants. He emphasized that PPP is an effective model for local development, enabling the improvement of public services by leveraging private sector expertise.
He stressed that PPP has become indispensable for sustainable development and urged participants to apply the knowledge gained from this training to improve municipal services.
Sanam Irshad, Advisor Good Governance from GIZ, also participated in the session. Other dignitaries present included Secretary Punjab Local Government Board, Rizwan Nazir; Additional Secretary Admin, Maliha Rashid; Deputy Secretaries Shahid Latif, Farah Deeba, and Arsalan Ali.
PMDFC Managing Director, Syed Zahid Aziz, highlighted the vast potential of PPP in municipal service projects. He emphasized that this training would enable municipal officials to design projects more effectively and that the government is providing necessary legislation and support.
Other experts who shared their experiences and expertise included Mahmood Masood Tamanna (GMIID), Adnan Nisar (GM Engineering), Moinuddin Shaikh (PPP Expert), and Sohaib Rafique (Deputy Manager ID).
The participants received detailed training on all stages of PPP project preparation, implementation, and completion, aiming to achieve developmental goals at the local level.
