QUETTA: Pakistan Customs has seized 10 kilograms of crystal meth (crystal ice) valued at approximately Rs111.2 million during an anti-smuggling operation in Balochistan’s Kachhi district, officials said on Tuesday.
The narcotics were recovered from a concealed compartment attached to the fuel tank of a Mazda truck transporting tomatoes in the Kolpur area. The seizure highlights ongoing efforts by customs authorities to curb drug trafficking through the province.
Drugs Found in Hidden Compartment
According to Customs Enforcement Unit officials, officers intercepted the truck in Kolpur and discovered 10 sealed packets of crystal meth concealed inside a cylindrical compartment installed alongside the vehicle’s fuel tank.
Officials estimated the value of the seized narcotics at around Rs111.2 million.
Legal Action Underway
Customs authorities said a case has been registered against those involved in the alleged smuggling operation, and legal proceedings are in progress.
In a statement, customs officials said law enforcement agencies would continue anti-smuggling operations across Balochistan and would not allow criminal networks to undermine the country’s economy or national security through narcotics trafficking.
Authorities also reaffirmed their commitment to continuing enforcement efforts aimed at disrupting drug smuggling networks operating in the province.
