An old lecture by Faisal Asghar Imam, who has been arrested in connection with the murder of his wife Hina Javed in Rawalpindi, has gone viral on social media after resurfacing in the context of the case.
The video is from a corporate training session in which Faisal discusses whether managers should immediately judge a person’s actions or first try to understand the factors behind their behaviour. During the lecture, he uses a hypothetical example involving a husband shooting his wife.
What Did Faisal Say in the Old Lecture?
In the video, Faisal presents a hypothetical situation to the audience and asks how they would view a husband who shoots his wife.
He then discusses several possible hypothetical circumstances that could influence a person’s behaviour, including severe intoxication, behavioural changes caused by a tumour affecting the brain’s prefrontal cortex, and alleged infidelity within a marriage.
The lecture was focused on understanding human behaviour and decision-making in a management context. The examples were presented as hypothetical scenarios as part of that discussion.
What Happened in the Hina Javed Case?
Hina Javed was found dead under suspicious circumstances at Askari Apartments in Rawalpindi. According to police, her body was found partially hanging from a shower using a wire loop in the bathroom of the residence.
A murder case was registered on the complaint of Hina’s brother against her husband Faisal Asghar Imam, her father-in-law Asghar Imam and a domestic worker.
Police subsequently arrested Faisal and the domestic worker and obtained three-day physical remand from the court. Investigators have also collected mobile phones, fingerprints and other evidence from the scene.
Police have decided to conduct DNA tests on the arrested suspects, while post-mortem findings and forensic reports are also being incorporated into the investigation.
Is the Viral Lecture Linked to the Murder Case?
There is no verified evidence linking the hypothetical example discussed in the old lecture to Hina Javed’s murder. The video was recorded for a corporate training session and the scenario was presented as a hypothetical example.
Faisal Asghar Imam has been accused in the murder case, but the charge has not been proven in court. The investigation remains ongoing, with police expected to determine the circumstances of Hina’s death based on forensic findings and other evidence.
