RTS Commission holds online awareness session on public service rights in Peshawar

PESHAWAR, June 9: The District Monitoring Office of the Right to Public Services (RTS) Commission in Peshawar conducted a Facebook Live awareness session to educate citizens about RTS Notified Services and their rights under the Right to Public Services Act, 2014.

The online session, led by District Monitoring Officer Tashfin Israr, aimed to inform the public about access to government services, complaint procedures and the mechanisms available for seeking redress in cases of delays or service-related issues.

During the session, participants were briefed on the objectives of the Right to Public Services Act, 2014, and its role in promoting transparency, accountability and timely delivery of public services. Officials explained the rights available to citizens and the responsibilities of government departments in providing notified services within prescribed timelines.

Information on complaints and service delivery

The discussion covered procedures for obtaining public services, submitting applications and filing complaints when services are delayed. Viewers were also informed about the role of the RTS Commission in addressing grievances and improving service delivery standards across government departments.

Officials explained how citizens can seek redress through the commission and highlighted the complaint resolution process established under the law.

Interactive session with the public

An interactive question-and-answer segment allowed participants to raise concerns related to public services, departmental responsibilities and complaint mechanisms. Questions submitted by viewers were addressed during the session to improve public understanding of the RTS framework.

According to the RTS Commission, public awareness plays an important role in ensuring effective implementation of the law by helping citizens understand and exercise their rights.

Assistant District Monitoring Officer Muhammad Ismail, RTS Commission internee Noman Zeb and Jehanzeb Khan also participated in the session.

The RTS Commission said it plans to continue public awareness initiatives aimed at improving understanding of citizen rights, governance reforms and public service delivery in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
