Islamabad: Representatives of Women Chambers of Commerce & Industry from across Pakistan participated in a consultative meeting organized by the (FPCCI) at its Capital Office in Islamabad, chaired by Vice President FPCCI .
During the session, President of the Peshawar Women Chamber, Ms. Quratulain Mumtaz, presented key recommendations aimed at strengthening women entrepreneurship and improving institutional coordination among chambers nationwide.
She emphasized the need for enhanced coordination and connectivity among Women Chambers of Commerce across Pakistan to ensure stronger collaboration, knowledge-sharing, and collective advocacy on issues affecting women entrepreneurs.
Highlighting the importance of inclusive representation, she called for equal participation of Women Chambers in all central committees of FPCCI to ensure women entrepreneurs have an effective voice in policy-making and decision processes.
Ms. Quratulain Mumtaz also proposed the establishment of a Women Business Facilitation Desk at the FPCCI office, suggesting that it should be managed by representatives from all provinces on a rotational basis to ensure equal provincial participation and accessibility.
Addressing the needs of emerging women-led businesses in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, she stressed the requirement for an incubation center at the Peshawar Women Chamber to support startups, innovation, and business development initiatives for women entrepreneurs.
She further requested the sharing of draft Trade Organization Rules for review and consultation, emphasizing the importance of transparency and stakeholder engagement in regulatory matters.
Speaking on digital reforms, she discussed the digitization process of the (DGTO) system and called for process improvements to facilitate chambers and businesses more effectively.
The President of the Peshawar Women Chamber also underlined the urgent need for skill development and capacity-building programs for chamber staff, office bearers, and members to enhance institutional performance and entrepreneurial capabilities.
She reiterated the importance of promoting women entrepreneurship across the country through supportive policies, institutional facilitation, and dedicated development initiatives.
During the meeting, Ms. Quratulain appreciated Vice President FPCCI for successfully securing MOUs with OCHA, Turkey, and Germany, terming these partnerships important milestones for international collaboration and opportunities for women entrepreneurs in Pakistan.
The consultative session concluded with a collective commitment to strengthening the role of women in Pakistan’s economic development through coordinated efforts, policy advocacy, and institutional support.
