The University of Agriculture Swat (UoAS) organised its first-ever Expo on Thursday, giving students an opportunity to showcase their creative work, business ideas and innovative projects while encouraging entrepreneurship and practical learning.
The event was jointly organised by the Students Welfare Association and the Directorate of Outreach and Student Affairs. It aimed to promote an entrepreneurial culture among students and equip them with skills that could help them become future business leaders and employers.
Students Showcase Innovative Ideas
The Expo featured a variety of stalls displaying food products, handicrafts, business concepts, gems and jewellery, bakery items, recreational activities and cultural exhibits.
Students participated actively and presented projects reflecting their creativity, practical knowledge and efforts to develop innovative solutions.
Speaking to media representatives, UoAS Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Dawood Jan praised the organisers, faculty members and students for successfully holding the event.
He said such activities allow students to apply academic knowledge to practical situations while developing confidence, leadership, teamwork and entrepreneurial skills.
University Focuses on Innovation and Sustainable Agriculture
Prof. Dr. Dawood Jan said the university was committed to strengthening innovation, entrepreneurship, research, sustainable agriculture and industry-academia linkages.
He emphasised the importance of encouraging students to develop practical and innovative solutions that can contribute to the country’s socio-economic development.
Faculty members and visitors also appreciated the students’ displays and encouraged them to continue exploring new ideas and opportunities in their respective fields.
In his concluding remarks, the Vice Chancellor thanked the Directorate of Outreach and Student Affairs and the Students Welfare Association for organising the Expo.
He said the event provided students with a platform for learning, creativity, innovation and knowledge sharing, adding that such initiatives support the university’s objective of producing skilled, innovative and socially responsible graduates.
