ISLAMABAD: Mobilink Bank has launched the “BiBi App,” a mobile application aimed at improving breast cancer awareness and women’s health education in Pakistan through accessible and localized digital information.

The BiBi app, developed by women’s health startup Aangan, was introduced during an event in Islamabad attended by diplomats, healthcare experts, policymakers, and development sector representatives. The initiative is part of Mobilink Bank’s broader efforts to support women-focused digital innovation and health awareness initiatives in Pakistan.

Aangan is an incubatee of Mobilink Bank’s Women Inspirational Network (WIN) Incubator, a program designed to support women-led startups and entrepreneurship.

According to health experts, breast cancer remains the most common cancer among women in Pakistan, with delayed diagnosis and limited awareness continuing to pose major challenges.

App designed for women across urban and semi-urban areas

Mobilink Bank said the application is intended for women aged 18 to 55 living in urban, peri-urban, and semi-rural communities with limited access to health awareness resources.

The app provides information related to breast cancer awareness, prevention, and early detection in both Urdu and English. Officials said the medical information included in the application was reviewed by Shifa International Hospital.

The bank stated that the initiative aims to improve health literacy by providing culturally relevant and easy-to-understand information through a digital platform.

Focus on women-led innovation and digital inclusion

Mobilink Bank said the launch of the BiBi App reflects its continued focus on supporting women-led innovation beyond traditional financial services.

Through its WIN Incubator programme, the bank has graduated 31 women-led startups. The bank also recently received the National Incubation Centre in Sialkot to further expand support for entrepreneurship and digital innovation.

Speaking at the launch event, Mobilink Bank President and CEO Haaris Mahmood Chaudhary said access to information and healthcare awareness was important for women’s empowerment and informed decision-making.

He said the BiBi App was intended to help improve awareness around early detection and make health-related information more accessible to women across Pakistan.
