KARACHI: Flour prices have increased further across Pakistan, with consumers in Karachi facing the highest prices for a 20-kilogram flour bag, according to the latest data released by the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics.
The increase in flour prices comes amid ongoing concerns over food inflation and household expenses. Official figures show significant variations in flour rates across major cities, affecting consumers in different parts of the country.
According to the Bureau of Statistics, the maximum price of a 20-kilogram flour bag has reached Rs2,800 nationwide. Karachi recorded the highest rate, where the same bag is being sold for up to Rs2,800.
Flour prices in major cities
Data shows that the price of a 20-kilogram flour bag has reached Rs2,750 in Peshawar, while consumers in Islamabad are paying up to Rs2,733.
In Rawalpindi, the price has climbed to Rs2,707, while Quetta and Bannu have reported rates of up to Rs2,700 per bag.
Hyderabad recorded a maximum price of Rs2,600, while consumers in Khuzdar and Larkana are paying up to Rs2,400.
Lower rates in Punjab cities
Among major Punjab cities, Faisalabad reported a price of Rs2,350 for a 20-kilogram flour bag, while Gujranwala recorded Rs2,333.
In Multan, flour is being sold for up to Rs2,267, while Lahore reported one of the comparatively lower rates at Rs2,250 per bag.
The latest figures highlight continued pressure on household budgets as consumers across the country face rising food costs.
