Police recovered the several-day-old body of an unidentified woman from a drain in Karachi’s Surjani Town on Thursday, August 28. The woman is believed to be between 40 and 45 years old, but her identity could not immediately be established.
The body was found in the Yaro Goth area of Godhra Camp within the jurisdiction of Surjani Town Police Station. Police reached the site after receiving information and called the crime scene unit to collect evidence.
Cause of Death Yet to Be Determined
Surjani Town SHO Nasir Mahmood said the body appeared to be four to five days old. The immediate cause of death could not be determined.
The body was shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for medico-legal formalities and a post-mortem examination. Police said further investigation is underway, including efforts to establish the woman’s identity and determine the circumstances surrounding her death.
