ISLAMABAD, Mar 12: The government has launched a $9.07 million early education reform project in Balochistan aimed at expanding access to pre-primary learning for thousands of children, particularly in rural and marginalised communities where early schooling opportunities remain limited.

According to documents available with Wealth Pakistan, the initiative is being implemented by the Balochistan Education Department and is scheduled to run until June 30, 2029. The programme seeks to strengthen early learning systems across the province by improving teacher training, upgrading school infrastructure, and expanding access to structured early education programmes.

Focus on access and teacher training

The project, titled “System Transformation in Balochistan for Early Education,” is designed to improve the quality and availability of early childhood education across underserved districts.

Officials say the initiative includes developing standardised early learning curricula, strengthening institutional capacity within the provincial education system, and establishing monitoring mechanisms to improve the delivery of education services.
