ABBOTTABAD: Employees working under the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Population Welfare Department’s Annual Development Programme (ADP) have reportedly been waiting for four months to receive their salaries, causing financial difficulties for the affected staff.
According to information provided by employees, they approached the Population Welfare Department’s provincial headquarters after their salaries remained unpaid. They were reportedly informed that funds for the employees’ salaries had been released to the regional population welfare offices in July.
Employees Cite Delay in Salary Processing
The affected employees subsequently contacted the Population Welfare Office in Abbottabad, where they were reportedly told that the payroll could not be processed because the required employee data was unavailable.
The employees said they had been performing their duties for around three years and questioned why their records were reportedly not available with the relevant department.
The situation has raised concerns among the affected staff, who say the continued delay has created financial hardship for their families.
Calls for Immediate Resolution
Public and social circles in Abbottabad have called on the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa chief minister and the provincial minister for Population Welfare to intervene and ensure that the pending salaries are released without further delay.
They also called for an inquiry into the reported administrative and accounts-related delays and sought action against officials found responsible for the prolonged withholding of employees’ salaries.
The allegations could not be independently verified from the relevant departmental or accounts authorities.
