Former Pakistan cricket captain Babar Azam has urged fans to tone down the “King” talk, saying, “I always try to perform well, and I will get myself out of this difficult phase. I need to forget the past and look ahead.”
Speaking to the media after Pakistan’s match against South Africa, the star batter said, “Whenever I go out to bat, I do so with a positive mindset, but unfortunately, I haven’t been able to finish the games. Agha and Rizwan played brilliant innings.”
He appealed to fans, saying, “Please tone down the ‘King’ talk a little. I followed the plan that the team had demanded. I always try to give my best performance. When you build an innings, you get an idea of the conditions. I think about my past good innings and will get myself out of this tough zone.”
Babar added, “Whatever I have performed well in the past is history now. Every upcoming match is new and challenging for me. I need to forget the past and focus on the future. I try to plan positively for the next game because the opposing team also comes prepared.”
He further stated, “Winning matches boosts confidence, and these things help. We discuss our strengths and weaknesses to improve.”
