Hasan Nawaz says he ‘hates all Indian bowlers’, highlights intensity of rivalry

LAHORE — Pakistan batter Hasan Nawaz has said he feels heightened aggression in matches against India, stating that he “hates all Indian bowlers” in the context of the long-standing cricket rivalry.

Speaking in a recent interview, Nawaz described the added emotional intensity that accompanies Pakistan-India encounters, saying such matches naturally bring greater motivation and a more attacking mindset.

He clarified, however, that while the rivalry fuels aggression, batting decisions at the international level are guided by match situations rather than targeting specific players. Nawaz said factors such as required run rate determine the approach, regardless of who is bowling.

“At this level, all players are world-class, so you prepare plans for everyone,” he said, adding that scoring intent is shaped by the demands of the game.

The 23-year-old made his T20 International debut for Pakistan in 2025 against New Zealand and has since featured in 25 matches. He has scored 457 runs at an average of 20.77 with a strike rate of 154.39, including one century and two half-centuries.

Nawaz has faced India once in T20 internationals, scoring five runs in that match.
