ISLAMABAD: Islamabad Club, in collaboration with Sante, hosted the final of the 7th Islamabad Club Open Polo Championship on Saturday, bringing together diplomats, club members and polo enthusiasts for one of the capital’s premier sporting events.
The final match, played at the Islamabad Club grounds, attracted a distinguished audience including Bulgaria’s Ambassador Irena Gancheva, Poland’s Ambassador Maciej Pisarski and Mrs Justyna Pisarska, Belgium’s Ambassador Idesbald van der Gracht and Mrs Lorraine, newly arrived Spanish Ambassador Carlos Aragon and Mrs Sabine Richter, as well as Argentina Embassy Deputy Head Erica Lucero.
Team HN/Diamond Paints secured victory over Team BN/SQ in a closely fought final marked by high-intensity play and strong sportsmanship. The winning side featured Haider, Shoaib, Saqib and Jalal, while Team BN/SQ was represented by Babar, Shiraz, Ibrahim and Abelenda.
Spectators witnessed an entertaining and competitive encounter as both teams displayed impressive coordination, tactical skill and determination throughout the match.
The championship featured six participating teams from across the polo circuit and delivered a series of competitive fixtures during the tournament. Known for its quality organisation and strong participation, the Islamabad Club Open Polo Championship has become an important fixture on Pakistan’s sporting calendar.
