SWAT, April 24: Pakistani female biker Gul Afsha has completed a 36-day motorcycle journey from the United Kingdom to Pakistan, arriving in Swat after travelling across multiple countries in Europe and Asia.
Her journey, which began on March 11 from Manchester, drew attention for highlighting the growing presence of women in long-distance motorcycling and adventure travel.
Gul Afsha travelled through France, Switzerland, Italy, Greece, Bulgaria and Turkey before entering Pakistan. She described the Turkey-Iran border crossing as one of the most challenging segments of the trip, alongside changing weather conditions and the difficulty of being away from her daughter.
Despite these challenges, she completed the journey successfully and was welcomed by local bikers and residents upon her arrival in Swat.
Speaking after reaching her destination, Gul Afsha said her journey was intended to encourage Pakistani women to pursue their goals and participate in diverse fields.
Originally from Sargodha and now married in Swat, she concluded her journey at her home destination.
Local biker Fawad, who was among those present to receive her, said the community was proud of her achievement and described it as a source of inspiration for others.
